The PrioCHECK® Brucella Antibody 2.0 ELISA is an indirect ELISA for the detection of antibodies against Brucella abortus and Brucella melitensis in the serum and milk of cattle, sheep, and goats. The test meets EU requirements and OIE standards.

The PrioCHECK® Brucella Antibody 2.0 ELISA procedure consists of 4 steps. In the first step, serum samples and milk samples are dispensed in the coated wells of a microtiterplate. Antibodies, directed against Brucella abortus and Brucella melitensis, present in the test sample, will bind to the antigen during incubation. The bound antibodies are detected using an anti-Ig monoclonal antibody, conjugated to an enzyme that generates a color signal. Color development will occur when specific antibodies against Brucella abortus or Brucella melitensis are present in the test sample. Color development indicates the presence of Brucella antibodies in the sample.
