Real-time RT-PCR kit for the qualitative detection of BTV genotypes 8 and 4 RNA in whole blood (in EDTA tubes), spleen or organs from aborted animals.
The ID Gene™ Bluetongue genotypes 8 and 4 Triplex test simultaneously detects in real time:
- a target sequence specific of BTV-8, conserved in all known BTV-8 strains
- a target sequence specific of BTV-4, conserved in all known BTV-4 strains
- a sequence specific of a ubiquitous gene, inherently present in ruminant cells (NTPCen), in order to validate the integrity of the sample and the quality of the nucleic acid extraction
